AG stands for Application Guardian.
In cable and broadband industry, as demand for data services explodes, cable operators are required to think about simple, reliable and scalable methods of monitoring, storage, disaster recovery and back up of the existing applications for both software and hardware.
Monitoring of software, hardware applications, reliable and secure data storage are crucial to business continuity plans for any cable operator. With the dependence cable operators have on information about their technical processes and financial aspects, data storage/retention is becoming crucial for a smooth business workflow hence the need of a good system redundancy comes into picture. Various applications running, as well as the increasing amount of data that enterprises store, shall be protected from system outbreak or any error in the application.
OPEN ADMIN AG always monitors the state of key software and hardware of the OPEN ADMIN/STM and during the fault outbreak, AG reboots the OS, carry out automatic subsystem recovery and notifies through emails, and is software for the system monitoring and notifying the manager by SNMP trap transmission etc. AG has the function that executes defined scenario beforehand with events driven, scenario can be configurable not only for OPEN ADMIN/STM servers but for any other network devices ex. router, switches, firewall, CMTS, DHCP etc. therefor AG can be expandable to provisioning system in the future roadmap.
